Mais, bonne nouvelle pour les fans du créateur, le projet n'a pas été abandonné pour de bon. En manque de liquidités, Warner Bros.  a simplement décidé d'appliquer la "méthode Sandman " à cette nouvelle création originale - à savoir, se contenter de co-produire et de confier à une autre plateforme le soin de financer et de diffuseur la série.
