En manque de liquidités, Warner Bros.  a simplement décidé d'appliquer la "méthode Sandman " à cette nouvelle création originale - à savoir, se contenter de co-produire et de confier à une autre plateforme le soin de financer et de diffuseur la série. J.J. Abrams  et Matt Reeves , au développement via les sociétés Bad Robot  et 6th & Idaho , ont commencé les présentations avec les repreneurs potentiels du secteur de la SVOD.
