Clash of Clans Town Hall 15 Guide: Upgrade priorities, Best bases, Attack strategies, and more

Town Hall 15 has arrived in Clash of Clans with a major update in 2022. Players who maxed out their Town Hall 14 or built every building, now have access to upgrade their Town Hall and gain new defensive buildings such as the spell towers and the Monolith with higher levels of heroes, pets, troops, spells and siege machines to bolster our attacks. This guide will help players through everything they need to know about Town Hall 15 in Clash of Clans. This guide covers topics on what upgrades to prioritize and helps to understand the best attack strategies in Town Hall 15 along with the best farming and war bases.

Upgrading Town Hall to level 15

Once the players build all the available buildings in Town Hall 14 and maximize their Town Hall to level 5, they become eligible to upgrade their Town Hall. But it is strongly advised to upgrade the defences, troops, spells and all the necessary units before doing so.

In our upcoming October update we will remove extra Barracks and Dark Barracks buildings and only keep one of each! Take a look at the changes coming to the Barracks system:https://t.co/AwLV2mQl1s

With this update, Supercell has removed the 4 Barracks and 2 Dark Barracks to now 1 Barracks each, in order to avoid the cluttering of the home village. They have also removed the training costs of every troop! Now, any type of army without any worrying about cost efficiency. Barracks, Dark Barracks, Spell Factory, and Dark Spell Factory will now be able to keep production going even while being upgraded, at 50% training speed.

Upgrading the Town Hall to level 14 requires 16 million Gold and once started it lasts for 20 days. The upgraded Town Hall will have an increased hit point of 8900 and offer the same storage capacity (2 Million Gold & Elixir and 20,000 Dark Elixir) as Town Hall 13.

New Buildings, levels and more are unlocked with Town Hall 15

After upgrading the Town Hall to level 15, the player unlocks new levels of buildings, defences etc. There are only two new additions to defensive buildings that the player gets to build at Town Hall 15. They are the likes of Spell towers and the Monolith.

The Spell tower gives the player the option to choose between 3 types of spells to defend their base, whereas the Monolith is a single target tank killer, that deals a base-level amount of damage per shot and each shot does additional bonus damage, based on a percentage of the target’s max hit points, making the Monolith incredibly dangerous against high HP units, such as tanks or Heroes.

The 3 spells to choose from, on the Spell tower are:

  • Rage Spell (to boost the damage of nearby defences and units): At level 1 with an upgrade cost of 14 million and time of 14 days, and 2500 HP.
  • Poison Spell (to damage the enemy units overtime): At level 2 with an upgrade cost of 16 million and time of 16 days, and 2800 HP.
  • Invisibility Spell (to temporarily conceal defences, units and buildings): At level 3 with an upgrade cost of 18 million and time of 18 days, and 3100 HP.

The Monolith will have 2 levels which will be built and upgraded using Dark Elixir. The first level will cost 300k DE and 18 days, while the second level will cost 360k DE and 19 days of upgrade time.

New Troop: Electro Titan

The Electro Titan is a brand-new troop that players can unlock at Town Hall 14, by upgrading their Barracks.

Electro Titan is a short-ranged fighter that can target both ground and air units. Its unique quality is the aura that she emits causing continuous damage around her. Anything that touches within the aura’s radius, gets damaged over time, whether it is air units or ground or buildings with the exception of walls.

  • Favourite Target: Any
  • Damage Type: Single Target
  • Targets: Ground & Air
  • Training Time: 6 mins
  • Housing Space: 32
New Siege Machine: Battle Drill

The Battle Drill unlocks at Workshop level 7. It burrows underground in order to be avoided by the defences and when it surfaces to attack the nearest enemy defence, it will stun its target for 2 seconds.

A brand new Siege Machine is also coming to Town Hall 15! Battle Drill will burrow beneath the ground in order to avoid being detected by enemy defenses. When Battle Drill surfaces to attack the nearest enemy defense, it will momentarily stun its target! pic.twitter.com/xJUImeomYh

New Spell: Recall Spell

Battles will never be the same again! When Recall Spell is used, it will remove units from the battlefield where they can be redeployed elsewhere. Save your troops from a lethal enemy defense or simply send them into battle from another position! Unlocks at Town Hall 13. pic.twitter.com/ScHlU7j1dC

Players can unlock this new spell at Town Hall 13. When Recall Spell is used, it will remove units from the battlefield, where they can be redeployed somewhere else. The number of units that can be recalled is determined by the Housing Space limit each level has. Heroes count as 25 and Hero Pets count as 20 Housing Space respectively. The Recall Spell will prioritize units in order of higher Housing Space first.

Note: Any recalled units that remain undeployed until the end of the attack will disappear.

  • Brewing Time: 6 mins
Clash of Clans Town Hall 15 Guide: Upgrade priorities
  1. Laboratory: As you get the 5 days boost by upgrading the Town Hall, you can maximize the benefit of max troops with the upgraded laboratory.
  2. Clan Castle: For more housing space for Troops to use in attacking bases or defending their own base.
  3. Storages: For the increased storage capacity.
  4. Army Camps: For more Housing Space for your Troops.
  5. Workshop: For the new siege machine, the Battle Drill.
  6. Pet House: For the new Pets.
  7. Spell Factory: For the new Recall Spell.
  8. Barracks: For the new Troop, the Electro Titan.
Miscellaneous tips
  • The magic items are really useful to use either in the Lab or the Clan Castle. Players can get their offence going strong that way.
  • Players must upgrade those storages for a better value of the runes!
  • Players must remember that offence upgrades are always more important than the defence. They must use their magic items towards the attack armies and buildings that are important for the offence.
Defence: Levels and Upgrade priorities

New levels to the defences and traps are as follows:

  • Monolith level 2
  • Spell Tower level 3
  • Cannon level 21
  • Archer Tower level 21
  • Wizard Tower level 15
  • Air Defense level 13
  • Mortar level 15
  • X-Bow level 10
  • Inferno Tower level 9
  • Bomb Tower level 10
  • Air Bomb level 10
  • Bomb level 11

Upgrade Priorities are as follows:

  1. Giga Inferno: Max your Town Hall for a more powerful defence than before.
  2. Spell Towers: Those Poison Spells at level 2 Spell Towers are really good at defending your base no matter what type of attack strategy is being used.
  3. X-bows: Heavy DPS, single target damage.
  4. Inferno towers: Multi-target mode defends spam attacks really well.
  5. Bomb towers: Ground attacks are getting a big buff and this is a good defence for that, as it has splash damage against ground troops.
  6. Archer Towers: Better range than cannons and attacks for both ground and air troops.
  7. Mortars: Splash damage, good against the ground.
  8. Wizard towers: Splash damage, good against ground and air.
  9. Air defence: Great against any type of dragon-based attacks.
  10. Cannons: It packs a punch against ground troops, especially that geared up multi cannon.
  11. Traps: New levels to the Bomb and Air Bomb can be game-changer in certain situations.
Heroes and Pets: Level and Upgrade priorities Heroes
  • Barbarian King: Level 85 + Iron Fist Level 17
  • Archer Queen: Level 85 + Royal Cloak Level 17
  • Grand Warden: Level 60 + Eternal Tome and Life Aura Level 12
  • Royal Champion: Level 35 + Seeking Shield Level 7

Players very well know that heroes are important, no matter what one may argue. They are the driving reason for most of the 3-star attacks. Warden requires Elixir, whereas the other heroes require Dark Elixir. Players can always upgrade their Warden and any other Dark Elixir-based hero such as the Archer Queen at the same time.
