Awesome Games Done Quick 2023 Raises $2.6 Million for Charity

The community-run speedrunning event, Awesome Games Done Quick 2023, recently came to an end, and according to tweet by its organisers, the event managed to raise $2,642,493 for charity throughout its week-long run.

Having taken place from January 8 up to January 15, the money raised by Awesome Games Done Quick 2023 through viewer donations benefited the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The event was hosted completely online, with its participants isolated from each other in separate rooms owing to the state of COVID-19 at its venue, Florida.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2023 featured speedruns of several games across several different categories. Some of the games include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Yakuza Kiwami, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Cult of the Lamb, and Half-Life: Alyx, among several other titles.

The next major Games Done Quick event is Summer Games Done Quick, which is slated to kick off on May 28, and will go on until June 4. The list of games and schedule for the upcoming event have not yet been announced.
